Major Gifts Officer (full-time)
Location: Oahu

Responsibilities: identify, engage, cultivate, solicit, and steward current and prospective donors, in expanding their financial support of the work of the American Red Cross. He/she will be responsible for meeting an annual revenue target by working with an assigned portfolio of donors and prospects to advance the mission of the organization and assist donors in creating meaning in their lives through giving to the American Red Cross.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree is highly desirable. Depending upon job level and revenue generation scope, may require a minimum from 5 to 10 years of major gifts leadership experience. Significant expertise with the area’s funding community highly desirable. Progressive experience in successful development programs and knowledge of “best practices” in development. Related Skills: Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences. Excellent verbal and written skills. Knowledge of office systems: MS-Office preferred and fundraising database systems. A team player committed to developing and working within a collaborative environment and to ensuring the highest customer service orientation. This position requires travel within the region.

Kauai Area Manager (full-time)
Location: Kauai
Department: Disaster Services/Management

Responsibilities: Helps plan, organize and manage an overall program of Red Cross services and visibility within the Kauai County's jurisdiction, with focus on delivery of disaster services. In disaster services, the Area Manager will support the capacity-building of volunteers, the development of the county disaster response training program, and extend the reach of community educational programs. The Area Manager is responsible for identifying, recruiting, training and evaluating community volunteers engaged in American Red Cross services, as well as for coordinating volunteer participation in county activities, communicating effectively with volunteers assigned to county tasks, and ensuring that county volunteers are recognized for their accomplishments. The Area Manager must be a professional and positive spokesperson for the American Red Cross and develop community resource and financial support for county programs.
Qualifications: Applicants should be willing to be on-call 24 hours a day in order to respond to media inquiries and emergency/disaster situations, with appropriate relief. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required. Other requirements include a minimum of two years management experience, a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record, as well as the ability to travel throughout the State of Hawaii. A Bachelor degree is preferred, as is previous non-profit volunteer management/fundraising experience. Knowledge of the local community is preferred. Initiative, strong organizational & excellent oral & written communication skills.

Responsibilities: Performs all functions required to coordinate the Nurse Aide Training program and instruct nurse aide candidates in the American Red Cross course of study.
Qualifications: Current RN license in the state of Hawaii required. Minimum one-year experience as a staff nurse with experience in long term care required. Experience in instructional training preferred. Available to work prescheduled day or evenings. Good verbal and written skills required. Own transportation required.
