Emergency Communication for Armed Forces and Families

Active duty service members stationed in Hawaii and their immediate family members can call the Red Cross Service to the Armed Forces Centers for help 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our toll-free telephone number is 1-877-272-7337.

Other family members who do not reside in the service members' household, members of the National Guard and Reserves, retirees and civilians may access Red Cross services by calling 808-734-2101, and pressing 5.

To find local Red Cross phone numbers in other states, go to the American Red Cross website at www.redcross.org.

Overseas personnel stationed on military installations should call their base or installation operators or the on-base Red Cross office. Personnel at overseas deployment sites should contact the American Red Cross deployed staff.

When calling the Red Cross to fsend an emergency message to a family member, please have ready the following information which will speed the process of sending your message:

  • Service Member's Full Name
  • Branch of Service
  • Social Security Number
  • Military Address
  • Information about the deployed unit and the home base unit (for deployed service members)
