2011 Red Cross Heroes

The Hawaii Red Cross salutes this year’s outstanding volunteers from neighborhoods across our state. These citizens stand ready to help others in need throughout the islands. Please join us in recognizing the selfless contributions of these local heroes. With extraordinary commitment and heartfelt compassion, they are exceptional examples of the strength and aloha that reside within our island communities. Past Events

2011 HATS OFF FUNDRAISER

On April 1, 2 and 3, 2011 volunteers collected over $100,000 to support disasters and services in our community. Volunteers accepted donations at various street corners, while others braved the crowds at shopping centers. The volunteers and supporters are the driving force behind the success of the Hats Off Fundraiser. Thank you!

Volunteers: Deloitte & Touche LLP, District 50 Hawaii Lions, Human Animal Bond, Honolulu Fire Department, Pageant participants, Red Cross Clubs, U.S. Air force Pacific, U.S. Army Pacific, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Marine Forces Pacific, U.S. Navy and many individual supporters.

Donors: Aala Ship Service, Aloha Air Cargo, Hawaii Pizza Hut & Taco Bell, Hawaiian Isles Water Company, McDonalds Restaurants of Hawaii, Subway Restaurants

Special thanks to Walmart for hosting the fundraiser for three days at their stores Statewide, and for providing invaluable support in helping to make the event a success.

Red Cross Heroes

The Annual Red Cross Heroes Breakfast was held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Waikii Beach Marriott Resort & Spa. The event honored five Community Heroes, five Volunteers of the Year and over 300 volunteers that play a vital role in the organization. The event celebrated the spirit of humanitarianism by honoring Red Cross Heroes who have performed extraordinary acts of kindness, compassion, and bravery.

Volunteers put on their Red Cross caps,safety vests and brought out signs and collection hard hats and collected donations, while getting a tan, at Walmart stores on Oahu on March 11th, 12th and 13th, and at seven street intersections on March 13th.
