Volunteer

It's what we do. The American Red Cross works within our local communities, providing relief to people who have suffered a disaster. We also help people prevent, prepare for and respond to a variety of emergencies. With your help, the promise of neighbor helping neighbor in times of trouble becomes a reality and our communities become safer places to live. Show your aloha and become a volunteer for the American Red Cross in Hawaii.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Disaster Volunteer Opportunities

Instructors will teach and evaluate student's knowledge, administer tests and identify potential instructor candidates. • Registered Nurses: Great opportunity for retired RNs who have had experience in long-term care to support the career field of certified nurse aides. Volunteer to become an Evaluator/Proctor to administer the State of Hawaii Nurse Aide Competency Examination. After completing our training program you will be assigned to work with teams of RNs who perform the state examination process to certify nurse aides. Travel to neighboring islands, meet lots of different people, serve as a role-model in this important caregivers career field! Contact Georgette DeMello, Nurse Aide Training Coordinator on Oahu at demellog@hawaiiredcross.org
